Newcastle Knights Star is Proud Father to Baby Boy

Newcastle Knights NRL Football star Andrew Johns and his wife Cathrine Mahoney have just become parents to baby boy born on yesterday morning.

Named Louis Byron Johns, the baby is the second son after Samuel, 9, for the Newcastle Knights player and the first child for the couple.

Mahoney, a public relations executive, met Johns at a cocktail party to launch John's DVD in 2002 and married in October 2007.

Now based in Sydney's Northern Beaches, they still visit the Newcastle region to visit family and friends. Cathrine is also from the Newcastle region after her parents relocated from Britain to Lake Macquarie.

Johns's management company confirmed the birth on Monday but would not release any more details.
