Newcastle Enjoys the 9 Shades of Whiteley exhibition

From 1 March to 26 April, Newcastle Regional Art Gallery (NRAG) is holding the touring 9 Shades of Whiteley exhibition that showcases Brett Whiteley's career in nine stages.

The exhibition of 20 Whiteley works that traces the life of the artist, has been touring regional Australia this year and is the first touring exhibition since the Brett Whiteley Studio opened in 1995.

Paintings include the artist's Self portrait at sixteen 1955 to just a few months before his death with Port Douglas, far North Queensland 1992.

NRAG has a diverse range of exhibitions and programs to help grow the Hunter Valley's cultural life.

The Newcastle gallery has its own exhibitions as well as exhibitions from around Australia and internationally, attracting over 40,000 visitors in a six week showing.
