The Newcastle home is now the only National Trust property in the region. In celebration of its 100th birthday, The Friends of Miss Porter's House will stage a heritage festival in the Newcastle terrace over two days from 11 to 12 April.
There will also be a Miss Porter's Centenary Fair at the Newcastle Grammar School on 30 May and hold open days from 1pm to 4pm on the second Sunday of every month.
