Newcastle Golf Club Damaged by Thieves

Wednesday February 25, 2009

Thieves broke into the Newcastle Golf Club at Fern Bay on Sunday evening and stole three golf-buggies altogether worth $54,000.

The Newcastle Golf Club's greens were also destroyed as the golf-buggies were used to rip up more than one.

In addition, a flag was snapped and two garbage bins were set alight.

Police believe that the vandals entered the Newcastle Golf Club between 6pm and 4am and a search has been conducted to try to retrieve the buggies.
