? NEWCASTLE'S cruise season is on course to breathe life back into the ill-fated Hunter Street Mall markets.

Stall holders will return to the mall on days cruise ships are docked in the Port of Newcastle to showcase the Hunter's finest products to international visitors.

Tomorrow's arrival of the cruise ship Millennium will signal the first market day, followed by January 19 and March 27.

Cruise Hunter project manager David Brown said the market's revival offered a chance for the Hunter to show its guests what it has to offer and cash in on the cruise season.

"There will be a number of local products: clothing, jewellery, food, craft pieces. It will give a greater atmosphere and bring more noise to the mall while the ship is in port," Mr Brown said.

Performers, musicians and a mobile reptile display from the Australian Reptile Park organised by Newcastle Livesites will also be on hand to entertain passengers.
